Happy New Year!
Well that was 2015 DONE! As Gordon Ramsay would say.
Happy new year to you all may 2016 be your best ever by far!
We have got a lot going on so this is a brief bulletin on current happenings for your perusal.
Where to start?
Well our merchandise has been going from strength to strength and you can now get official diner mugs (4.99) tee shirts (15.00) and our beautiful maple syrup (4.99) in all sites just ask your server.
We will also be opening Diner 9 very soon on The Strand. Actually we will probably be opening a lot of diners but that is the only one I can currently talk about! We are very excited about the Strand. It’s a long slender site reminiscent of the shape of original streamliner diners in America. We’re working with some killer design people and the location opposite the Savoy is excitingly posh darling. No one would have thought that our beat up pancake joint from Shoreditch would end up opposite the hotel whose first manager was César Ritz! We certainly didn’t.
Once everyone agrees on the final details it is going to look a little something like this:
We also have the Super Bowl party coming up find out more about the menu and how to book here.
And of course, what might end up as our busiest day of the year, Pancake Day is just around the corner. Keep an eye on twitter for details when the menu is finished in the next week or so. I can reveal that we will be serving a spiced cinnamon donut pancake with a pistachio glaze this year. Amongst other crazy stacks and the old faves.
A big congratulations to our manager in Soho Matt Ford who wins this year’s award for GM of the year. We keep running out of records for him to break! He and his moustache will surely be going on to do great things! Well done Matt!
We are also very pleased to announce the winner of our trip to NYC. What an amazing result! Well done Eleanor Bradshaw! Elly will be going to Manhattan courtesy of The Diner and our buddies at Five Napkin Burger will be laying on a slap up meal. Enjoy!
In 2015 we were very lucky to have the opportunity to check out some diners in LA, Miami and Chicago. We will shortly be off to Brooklyn (our current favourite place for food stateside) to see what lovely joys we can discover and bring back.
Peace CT
